Last month, our coordinator Virginie Harcouët-Menou (VITO) represented the URGENT project at the EERA Joint Programme Geothermal Annual Retreat in Turkey — an inspiring event dedicated to the latest innovations and advancements in geothermal energy.
The retreat featured a rich programme of activities, including site visits and technical excursions to:
- ENVIROCEN – Environmental Development Application and Research Center (İzmir Institute of Technology)
- Geothermal Energy Application and Research Center laboratories
- Urla–Gülbahçe Geothermal Field
- Seferihisar Geothermal Field
- The Ancient City of Ephesus
It was an excellent opportunity to connect with leading geothermal researchers, engage with other Horizon Europe project coordinators, and explore new synergies and collaboration opportunities across the European geothermal research community.
